    Talking The Things We Learn

This was a story on NPR about the embarrassing things we learn as adults-- things we should have known at a younger age.

Here's the link to the story: Want To Share An Embarrassing Misconception? You're Not Alone. : NPR

And here's the link to their FB page where they asked people to add things they'd learned. I could read it all day! I think my favorite so far is the guy who thought you're supposed to read Roman numerals like letters. He referred to the movies as "Rocky Eye Vee" and (my favorite) "Rambo Eye Eye Eye."

From the article I finally learned the difference between sweet potatoes and yams. And I never knew the Saturn logo was a planet, even though I OWNED a Saturn for about 11 years. LOL!

That's pretty funny. Along those same lines, my husband explained to me a couple weeks ago that the Yamaha motorcycle logo is tuning forks because they originally made pianos...now I can see it, but never knew that or noticed before.

They actually still make pianos and other musical instruments. There are some odd combinations of businesses in Japanese companies.

I thought the Yamaha symbol was a wheel of ship?
