    Default 20 Years of Wegener's

    Hi all.

I first had sinus problems well over 20 years ago and went through 18 months of treatment while slowly getting worse and developing more and more symptoms. When I reached the point of being bed ridden, a stand-in doctor suspected Wegener's and I was transferred to the Rhumatology department. They sorted me out, but were too late to prevent the damage to my kidneys and lungs. I later went on to have a renal transplant (the best thing that has ever happened!).
Since that time, I have been able to hold down a good job although I have had periods of sickness. I recently retired due to the build up of problems accumulated over the years, mainly due to the side effects of drugs. However, some of my problems could be due to the long standing Wegener's. Who knows?
