    G'day fellow Wegies

Hi, I was diagnosed in 2003 and althgouh remained in remission for a couple of years have had flare-ups luckily nothing so serious to go back on prednislone fortunately. But have been on Bactrim since Oct last year, which seems to be keeping things from progressing just suffering sore joints, tiredness and chronic crusting and bleeding of the nose....I guess its something I just have to live with but has changed my life from a social butterfly to hermitville..

    Hi Katwoman,
Nice to meet you. How funny that you just joined. One of our members Doug just adopted two cats today. Must be raining cats and ....

I hear you on the hermitville. I used to be an outdoors person-- always outside hiking, biking, etc.... I hope to get back to that at some point!

    Thanks

    Thanks Sangye,
Im a devon rex lover so not ur standard cat, think I went for that breed because he has all the energy I wish I still had.
I'd really love to hear from anyone out there that suffers from saddle nose as I can't seem to find any specialist in downunder willing to touch it, for fear it will collapse apparently, but surely there is someone out there.

It happens, then one day you feel sorta "OK", you take on a few social activities, and you find yourself doing things you never expected to do before. At least it worked that way with me! I am more social than ever, though people who've known me 40, 50 years might gibe: "Of course, you never were social to start with, so any increase in your social activities is like 100% over before!

Seriously, you sound like you may have a slight flare going on. Have you checked with a Wegener's granulomatosis specialist about these remnants of symptoms or this flare?

I don't have a needle phobia and don't know how I'd manage if I did. I've had to have tons of procedures involving needles. My veins are a mess and it can be hours of digging to get one IV in.

I thought the same thing as Doug when I read your post-- sounds like it could be a flare or at least not a solid remission. Good idea to get it checked out soon.

Katwoman welcome to the group. 1st piece of advice...when someone wearing an orange shirt "Body by Prednisone" tells you he is social...don't believe him. He is probaly trapped somewhere in a cabin under 20 feet of snow.

To get out of Hermitville may I suggest you play "Escape the Room" game located right here on this site. Once you get started you will see many of my friends there, Sangye, Luce, maybe Andrew...not Doug too busy being an entrepreneur selling his shirts. Anyway welcome to our groups you will notice we have many Locos, animal lovers and yes our dear friend Doug.

You got the cabin/snow thing right! On top of it, the new cat, Lucy/Al is a pistol. S/he scares Freckles, and s/he came into my bedroom at least ten times last night to make sure I wasn't asleep: mrow, mrow, mrow? Mrowmrowmrow! Mrow! S/he is a talkative cat, which is ok, but s/he's the handful, not the kitten. I am reasonably certain, because Lucy/Al hints strongly, that the issue is s/he wants to go outside, which won't happen. That's how s/he ended up being a pound cat. Oh! The question was social life and t-shirts! I think I will be too tired for anytrhing requiring effort till I learn how to live with this cat!

UPDATE: After walking over my keyboard two or three times while I was using it, then sitting on my mouse, Lucy/Al slipped onto the windowsill next to my desk, sat a little bit to see what was happening, then went over to the kitchen floor, under the electric heat, and fell asleep. It's the first time since s/he came into the apartment that s/he's been quiet or, to my knowledge, slept. I will avoid the temptation to pound pot lids together to wake her/him up, and enjoy the quiet while I can. Also, Freckles came out into the frontroom, after hiding under the bureau in the spare bedroom most of the time since Lucy/Al came to her/his new home, ran to hide under the kitchen table when Lucy/Al came out of the bathroom. (I have to put her/him out every time I use the bathroom because, not unlike cats, I don't particularly care to have an audience!) I suppose when I shower, it will be the same thing since I know Lucy/Al knows how to open the shower door. They crossed paths a little while later, and there was no hissing. Freckles will be the one that wins over her adversary, not the other way around. I can't wait.

He's also determined to stuff The Room full of Weggies.

Yes it's sad but true. We all thought Wegs would be the death of us. But it's really The Room. But before you come in, please bring food. Call Jolanta and ask for cabbage rolls.
