Hi Solette, it's nice to meet you. I'm sorry for what Willie has gone through. I don't think it's surprising that he may be feeling defeated or depressed. Not only has he had a hard time getting back on his feet, but pred actually causes depression--especially the more it is used. He may need an antidepressant or mood stabilizer either temporarily or long-term. One's attitude makes a huge difference. Gotta get the brain chemistry right to having a fighting chance at a good attitude, though.

If it helps, I take Lexapro...it helps immensely. Keeps the world fairly 'even' when I need it. Doesn't have many if any side effects...docs rave that it is safe...and does what it's sposed to do! Yikes! Better living thru chemistry!!

Sangye, Willie is currently on a mood stabilizer as he suffers from OCD on top of everything else. I will however ask him to ask his dr if we need to change that to something stronger/different with his next visit. Thanks for the advice.
