    Smile new member introduction.

    Hi,
    I am Daisy, lives in United Arab Emirates (Indian). Now 52 yrs. old. I was diagnosed with Wegg. in March 2010. I had sinusitis, joint pain, berathing difficulty and was admitted to hospital with haemoptysis.My chest X-ray showed cavity in my right lung. Almost 3-4 weeks I was coughing out blood. I became very weak. My c-ANCA was more than 200. I travelled to India and after a kidney biopsy got diagnosed as Weggs. Treated with Cyclophosphomide and Prednisolone. My symptoms subsided, still I'm on Prednisolone and Cellcept. I gained 11Kg. weight. but leading a normal life. i get exhausted easily.
    The diagnosis was a shock for me and my family. because I was a vefry healthy person . I'm very glad to join this group. my regards to all the members.

    welcome Dia. I am on Cellcept too, how much do you take? How much prednisone do you take? Do you see a Rheumatologist that specializes in Wegeners disease?

    Hi Dia,

    Welcome to the forum. As to the exhausted bit, my plan of action for today was:-

    1. Two loads of washing through the machinme and on the line (it was a nice day in my part of the UK);
    2. Vacuum and dust the lounge;
    3. Clean through the kitchen;
    4. Cut the grass;
    5. Do some cooking so I would have some decent food to make up packed lunches for the week.

    Well I suceeded in doing one, five and part of three. Oh well they will not go away so I will try another day.

    Welcome to the forum, but sad that you have the necessary prerequiste to join.

    I don't think we have anyone else from the UAE. How about putting a stick pin into our member map? Actually, that goes for anyone else who hasn't added their stick pin.

    Hi Daisy, welcome to the group! I'm happy to hear you're responding well to treatment. It is sadly common for people who were healthy to become diagnosed with Wegs. I hope you continue to post!

    Welcome, Dia! Good that you are taking as good care of yourself as the present state of the art allows! And keep friendly with the nephrologist. The kidneys are among our favorite organs!

    Hi Daisy
    Welcome to the group. I am on Cellcept also and find it does not have any obvious negative effects. Am now down to 5mg Prednisolone having tapered down from 60mg. Have lost the dreaded weight gained while on high dosage pred and feeling well. Good to hear you are responding well to treatment. Incidentally, we are the same age (52) and looking forward to a long life

    Hallo,
    nice to hear from you. How long you had been on treatment? and what was your problems. For me my lungs and kidneys were affected and i am too sensitive to any dust or smell. my throat gets congested and sound changes. Now as I had told , I am on 2 Gm. Cell cept and Prednisolone 10mg. tapering dose. Still my c-ANCA is more than 136 and still has proteinuria and haematuria.
    How is your general health?
    Regards
    Daisy
