LOL When I told some friends about the GPA name they all protested and said no way are they changing, especially since it doesn't seem to be universally accepted by docs. I told them the UK's name "Granulomata vasculitis" and they also thought it sounded like a plant name.

I hate having Wegener's Granulomatosis and even if it is only an euphemism like going from janitor to custodian to maintainance engineer I will take the new name just to get rid of having WEGS. I know that a rose is a rose is a rose....but I was only diagnosed 13 months ago so i haven't had as much time as you two to come to terms with having this awful damn disease. My GPA illness the doctors tell me was also an extremely nasty version of the disease so maybe it deserves more respect than my academic GPA since that wasn't much to brag about. It sounds better to me to have an academic problem rather than a disease named after a Nazi. But I don't know if the new name will catch on since none of my doctors use it yet. so if I lose my
GPA that is OK with me too.
