Thanks for all the helpful post! I actually know that my father contacted all the agencies that I have been dealing with and informed that he was going to be contacting every official from here to Washington to inform them of the unjust matter in which my case has been handled and that he would be contacting every radio station, newspaper, and TV station he could think of to inform them about the way of health care system treats the terminally ill. So I got at least one advocate. I believe he told one woman that if anything happened to me or I die that he was coming with a fleet of lawyers to prosecute them and hold them responsible for what happened.

I have just one more rant for the day, I promise. So I mentioned earlier that I made a special trip crippled and all to get the doctor to fill out a form that certifies my condition. I faxed it to the number they provided me with. After I faxed it today I contacted them to make sure they got and are doing something with it and that it’s not just on some desk in pile. I made the lady go find the fax and when she looked at she told me that she could tell just by looking at it that it was going to be sufficient enough and would be unaccepted. I asked for an explanation and what it needed in order to be considered acceptable. She said that needed to explain in detail why I was considered permanently disabled. I said Wegener’s is an incurable disease and the end prognosis is impossible to determine and could end fatally. She said that the board that reviews the cases are NOT doctors and wouldn’t know anything about my condition or Wegener’s so to presume that they would was ignorant. That’s nice. So now I have to make another trip to the doctor’s office to correct the form. Not what I wanted to hear. O.K. sorry. I just had to vent. Thanks for listening.

Rant, vent, go for it. Your doctor is the one who should be embarrassed. He's supposed to know how to write these letters, not you.

Besides, I don't think Andrew installed a Rant-o-Meter on this forum, so when you hit a limit you're bounced off.

    Default hang in there

Hi CoraJo, I'm sorry to hear of your troubles with health care. Here in Canada it is unheard of to leave someone without medication. I would, if I were you, go to emergency every day to get your meds. It is the right of every person to be treated humanly. When you were there initially did they give you the meds? What about your doc, can't he see you in the emerg and give you the meds? Talk to him and if he is not going to do anything for you but just leave you in pain and getting worse just because your paperwork is not done yet, find another doc, he seems like an uncaring lout and you deserve better. this disease is a very unpredictable and unpleasantly symptomatic one and you need an understanding and caring doctor someone who understands Wegener's.
What prescription meds were prescribed to you?

I took out the rant-o-meter when I installed the site and smashed it with a hammer

Corajo, I really want to come over there and kick butt for/with you! I've been kicking butt and taking names all week and I'm in the mood I'm amazed that people get treated that way in what is supposed to be a 'first world' country. I'm also amazed that you have such a positive outlook despite your setbacks. You are an inspiration and please always feel free to come here and have a good scream. Good that your Dad is assisting too. It's good to have a family advocate.
