Yes, onatreetop -- these symptoms should be reported to your rheumy immediately, and he should get you in for an eval and blood work. You never want it to get so bad that you end up in the ER, with people who haven't even heard of the disease.

Onatreetop so sorry you went through this.... I've been there (ER) many times in the last 15 years with chest pain. I have a feeling it is wegeners...did the ER physicians set you up to see the Cardiologist for more extensive work-up? I know this is the last thing you want to hear, after a horrible scary day. Like Sangye said, call your Rheumy at JHU. Hope your night is better and tomorrow much better.

They started the iv but dont remember blood being drawn. It was all happening really fast. My glucose has been hanging in the 80- 110 area. I have to call for the fallow up anyway. Nitro gives you one heck of a headache. Didnt know that. I remember some faint withdrawel sysmtoms last weaning. But not like this. The valuim is decreasing with it. Maybe? that could be part of it?

I'm sure they must have drawn blood out of the IV. It's routine to rule out heart attack, etc....

I have no idea what effect decreasing valium would do. Going on or off any drug can cause problems, so maybe.

If it's not the valium or something else, my guess is that it reflects how much more exhausted your adrenals are. Pred is hard on the adrenals, no matter if one feels energized or drained while taking it. It's like a cat burglar that steals without being seen or heard.
