    just a quick question....

    Hi guys

Sorry if this question has been asked before! I had my second Ritix infusion about 10 days ago, and i've since had a bit of a cold, but now my chest feels as if i'm going down with a chest infection. my doctor has given my antibiotics, but i feel rotten! I don't want to essentially go to the ER with what is basically a cold, so how do I know when I need help? Does Ritix make that much difference to how you would normally fight an infection?
    Thanks gwen x

Are you sure you have a cold? If so, then yes, rtx makes a huge difference for fighting infection. It wipes out all the B cells, which are the ones that produce antibodies. Pred also makes it harder to fight infection.

I remember you saying you are neutropenic much of the time. Any idea what your latest WBC count is?

    Hi Sangye :-)

No idea what my wbc is at the moment. If i feel it's getting much worse, i'll head into the ER and explain about the Ritix, and cyclic neutropenia. I tend to deteriorate within hours when i'm neutropenic with an infection.

I didn't know that Ritix made such a difference in terms of fighting infection.
    How are you?
