    Default blue/grey hand

My lft. hand has been turning dark grey/bluish for the last two days. It is the same temp. as my rt. hand, no pain but a little aching in my arm. It lasted for over 3 hours last night. Has anyone had this happen?

I would definitely get that looked at sooner rather than later. The only thing that I can think of off the top is some kind of interruption of blood flow/necrosis setting in, which is never good. If it goes away, perhaps it's not that, but you know that with WG you are at risk of some cartilage death (e.g. how you get a saddle nose, like I've got -- the bridge dies away).

I have not had that happen either. I would call and see what the doctor says.

Do you have a pulse in that hand??? You should call your physcian or if you have a nurse help line in your area. Preferably the person who treats you for Wegs. Dark grey/bluish is the color of tissue as it dies, however it could also be a side effect of a medication. Have you had recent anestheia?

If you have a good open clinic I would go there to at least get one docs opinion as soon as possible. I had problems with a toe that took way to long to be treated.

It could be a small blood clot too...need to call the doctor today. If it is still blue need to go to the emergency room now.

Thank you elephant, of course the ER is the right place. Docs can talk with each other about it if uncertain.

I agree-- go to the ER.

My hands have turned varying shades of blue since I got diagnosed. Sometimes just one fingertip, sometimes every other finger. They don't change temp or turn blue when it's cold. It seems to happen arbitrarily. Doesn't correlate with my pulse oxygen, either. They also turn bright red often--mostly when I'm warm or in the evening. No one has an explanation, really and it doesn't cause me any problems. But I have had it thoroughly checked out by numerous specialists and you should, too.

I have very cold hands and sometimes develop a numb finger or two which lasts about a day. No blueness though. It seems that a lot of us have problems with our hands, I guess it's connected with circulation.

I would get it checked or at least call your specialist. My knuckles and toes turned gray but have since returned to almost "normal" after dropping the prednisone. (day 29)
