    Default Hope

This thread is not meant to brag, or boast or anything of that nature, but rather to offer hope for Weggies in general.

As many of you know, I am rather new to the Weggie party, and was in pretty poor shape in April.

But with the support of my friends, family, co-workers, and fellow Weggies, this past weekend I was able to ride a "Century Ride," or 100 miles on my bicycle. The ride included 5,000 feet of climbing into the mountains in Colorado.

I just hope that this inspires hope for fellow Weggies, both the newly diagnosed, and those who have been fighting the good fight for years.

The picture attached is after summiting in Estes Park, Colorado. 8,002 ft. up. Notice the Pred face.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their support, and to remind everyone that Weggies CAN do amazing things!

Right on!!! A century is a very tough ride even for active non-weggies. My most hearty congratulations to you. Ridecoleride!!!

Are you still on pred and how much and what other meds do you take if you don't mind me asking.

    I am currently taking:

Imuran: 50mg, and increasing slowly, though most of the training was done while on 200mg of Cytoxan.
    Prednisone: 10mg and holding, currently.
    Bactrim: 180/60 tabs 3x weekly.
I also take a men's 1 a day vitamin, and Oscal, to combat the negative pred. effects.

    Fantastic Runcolerun!!

Were you a keen fit cyclist before Wegs, or was this a "rehab" pipedream? Inspirational

    Geoff-

I was decently fit before the Dx. I ran the Denver marathon in '09, and had been running and cycling in moderation since. This was on the agenda since Jan. 1, but was kind of a rehab dream as well.
