Sulfameth/ TMP DS

I recently finished 5 months of CTX infusions and my blood results are back to normal. So my Rhummy canceled anymore CTX and is weaning me off predisone and has put me on Sulfmeth.
Does anyone have any experiance with this drug?
I got sick over the weekend from it but I did have a couple of beers, I found out later it doen't mix with alcohol.

Is this the same as bactrim...for some reason I think so and if so then I have had no problems with it

How long have you been on it?

10 years off and on because I go through phases where I dont bother refilling prescriptions and it is not good to do that. I dont think you are suposed to drink with any antibiotics but honestly I have never worried too much about that. If I feel sick after drinking it is from how much and not becaue of the bactrim.

My understanding of bactrim is that it wil keep me from getting pneumonia.
