I understand exactly what you said Jan. I did not mean to be insensitive or say that if it is just apperance that people are worried about it is vanity. For me it is just appearance and I can live with it. I know people have a hard time dealing with the appearance issue. I do as well. But I don't let it bother me too much. I can definitely see how people's confindence in trying new things would be brought down with this deformity. I can also see how other people can be quite mean or not really intending to be mean when staring or making comments about the saddle nose. I would not begrudge anyone for getting the saddle nose fixed for whatever reason they have. But, for me I can live with it so far and I don't like the risks involved with the surgery. So for me the risks outweigh the benefits. I think women have a harder time with the appearance issue. Women have much nicer noses and of course are beautiful. Where as men are, well, kinda ugly. lol I may be wording this the wrong way, so no offence to anyone. It is a sad society that we live in that an employer would base their decision on hiring on appearance of saddle nose. If I was an employer looking to hire I would just come right out and ask what caused this. That may be easy for me to say now that I know something about saddle nose. I would not itend it to be insensitive. I hope this clears up any misconceptions people have of me. I can be nice. Just as long as someone does not make fun of my saddle nose. That is when the Batcape comes out. lol

lol Phil i knew what you meant, keep your batcape in the wardrobe.

As for me, there is no decision to make really, i'm 26 and young, not to mention single and yes looking like i do really does affect me.

And thanks Geoff, i've heard people say the first year is the worst, here's to the second year!!

Could be worse Sam, some people's noses and feet are built backwards: their feet smell and their noses run.

Think you hit the nail on the head Natalie, its the op failing that worries me more. Dont want to go through it all for it to collapse in a few years time, might was well get "poked" with fillers instead.
I'm not one of those people who can eassily make a list for and against anything cos i always make an equal argument! And if it comes down to picking say...2 things in a shop i will buy both cos i simply cannot chose between the two!
