    Default Back at Chapel Hill

We are now back at Chapel Hill..this time planned!
John had his renal biopsy this morning. On our last visit (which was unplanned) Johns urine was ths color or cola. Although he was having liver issues (due to a reaction to dapsone, his lung preventive med) and his bilirubin levels were HIGH (which causes urine to darken) they decided to have the nephrology group come in and do a UA study. With this they found some issues with the kidneys which resulted in them scheduling the biopsy. Since he was so uncomfortable on his last visit and weak they decided to schedule it with his next cytoxan infusion (which is tomorrow). The biopsy won't change his treatment but will help for future issues.
He did great. They had to do 5 probed because they couldn't get enough tissue but no bleeds or issues.
The difulcan seems to be working for the thrush. He had fish and chips for dinner and LOVED it tonight. First "love it" I've heard in a ling time when it came to food. Hopefully he can put back on some of the 50 plus pounds he has lost since mid May.
Tomorrow is the ctx infusion. Kinda nervous it may set him back some. Hopefully home afterwards. And hopefully won't be back until August 4th (our next scheduled visit)

I hope he continues to improve. It's great that the food is appealing again

Sounds like he is feeling better and that is a good sign that he ate his food and enjoyed it.
