MPO positive

My daughter test for p anca positive and MPO positive. They did blood again 1 month later and its MPO positve and P anca negative. What does this mean? Ive looked allover the internet but they alwasys connect both together. I have a dr. appt. next week maybe Ill understand.

ANCA testing can be very unreliable. Many patients on this site never have it done. Most of the big Wegs specialists say that most people with Wegs have unrelialbe ANCA as a marker. Other tests like ESR, CRP, WBC, Creatinine, etc, usually give way more info as to disease activity. But symptoms are the best way to judge what is going on and any good Wegs specialist knows this.

what is esr and wbc crp?

ESR is an inflamatory marker. It stands for Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate or sed rate for short.

WBC is White blood count, like white cells, lymphocytes, esonophils, neurtophils, hemoglobin, etc.

CRP is also an inflamatory marker. It stands for C-Reactive Protein.

Generally the CRP is rises more quickly than the ESR and when treated it falls more quickly as well. A high ESR typically means that the inflamation is chronic.
