    Default Remission - woo hoo!

I received a copy of my renal consultant's letter to my GP today and it states "This 27 year old lady has stage 1 chronic kidney disease due to WG. She is in full remission and doing very well." Yippee, I have it in writing that I've kicked WG's backside for now!!!

I was stage 3 chronic kidney disease when diagnosed 2 and a half years ago and it's taken plasmapharesis, 6 months of cyclo, some Cellcept and 4 rounds of Rituximab but I'm now only on 100mg Immuran, blood pressure tablets and 4mg pred which we're dropping down 1mg a month until I'm hopefully off of the rotten stuff.

Just thought I'd share the good news and maybe give you all a little hope that there is light at the end of what seems to be a very long tunnel.

Nice to hear that someone can come back from fairly serious kidney involvement.... as you say -- it gives hope!! Congrats...

Did your kidneys respond fairly quickly or was that something that improved gradually over the 2 years?
